AIM
The aim of this course is to provide workers and supervisors with knowledge
and skills required when working in a confined space environment. Trainees
will receive training in safe and correct procedures for entry into, working
within, and basic rescue from a confined space.
CONTENT
This programme will cover applicable government regulations for working
in a confined space environment. Trainees will acquire knowledge and
skills through a combination of lecture presentations, group discussions,
and individual and team practical exercises. Trainees are required to
successfully complete written and practical testing in order to receive
course certification.

Practical training exercises will be conducted in the Mobile Industrial
Rescue Trainer MIRT
using the following equipment:
- Stretcher
- Harness
- Tripod Retrieval System
- Davit Retrieval System
- Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus with Emergency Egress
- Portable Gas Detection Equipment

- Respirators
- Emergency Escape Breathing Systems
- Rescue Systems
- Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
- Other Personal Protective Equipment

DURATION Two (2) days
PREREQUISITES
CERTIFICATION
All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance
standards will receive a Survival Systems Industrial certificate for
Confined Space Entry & Rescue Basic.
REGISTRATION
Programmes are scheduled based on minimum trainee registration requirements.
